Melvin Beard Memorial Service

Obituary
Melvin Lovae Beard, 82 years of age, from Allen, Texas passed away July 22, 2022, while at his home in Allen. He was born in Sweetwater, Illinois on October 3, 1939, to parents Willis Lovae Beard and Ruby Eileen Beard.
Melvin was honored to serve his country for six years from 1956 to 1962. He joined the US Air Force National Guard Second Class, 183rd Combat Support Squadron (TAC) while living in Springfield, Illinois.
Dad, grandpa, papa and husband were a few of his titles; he was a hard-working, humble Christian man.
While living in Chatham, Illinois he was a Deacon and Elder and heavily involved in establishing a Christian Church in Chatham.
He was a hard-working farmer in Illinois for over 30 years. He retired from farming and moved to Plano, Texas in 1986, where he successfully owned and operated a general repair business serving the Plano area for more than 20 years. He used his years of experience and skills to build sheds, decks, repair drywall and plumbing and much more. He had a special ability to repair small engines. He took pride in his work and was dedicated to a job well done.
Melvin was a member of Cross Bend Christian Church in Plano. He was a devout servant for God. He freely gave of his many talents and skills to help others.
He was involved with lawn care at Cross Bend (Reclamation) Church and mentored other members how to maintain lawn equipment.
He never knew a stranger and he always had a smile and a hand out to greet you.
Rest well, good and faithful servant.
Melvin is survived by his wife of 64 years Judy Marie Beard of Allen, Texas; three children, Carol Beard Rudolph, Chris Beard, Connie Beard Doss, and two grandchildren Mikaela Beard and Mason Rudolph; his sisters Myra (Barrett) Allison of Austin, Texas; Marsha (Stephen) Baer of Champaign, Illinois; Marilyn (Ken) Kerr of Mount Sterling, Illinois.
